Reservation Policy
Reservations can be made in advance on certain areas of the parks in Dane County, Wisconsin. These
reservations give you and your party exclusive access to the site and some of the immediate area during
the times of the reservation.
Types of Reservations
There are 5 main types of reservations:
- Campsite
- Group Camp
- Shelter
- Special Event
Campsite Reservations
Dane county parks have many campsites that can be reserved for tents, campers, and RVs. See the
campsites list for more information.
Conditions
- Check-In is at 3:00 PM the first day of the reservation
- Check-Out is at 3:00 PM the last day of the reservation
- Maximum of 14 days per reservation
- Maximum of 6 people per site
- Reservation must be made a minimum of 5 days before first day of reservation
- Other Terms and Conditions May Apply
Group Camp Reservations
Large groups can reserve specially designated areas of the parks as a campsites. Discounts are
available for youth groups. See the group camps list for more information.
Conditions
- Check-In is at 3:00 PM the first day of the reservation
- Check-Out is at 3:00 PM the last day of the reservation
- Maximum of 14 days per reservation
- Other Terms and Conditions May Apply
Shelter Reservations
Shelter reservations entitle your group to exclusive use of the designated shelter building and immediate area.
The general public may use the restrooms. Other facilities such as ball diamonds, play areas, horseshoe pits,
and tennis courts are for use on a first-come first-served basis with a one hour time limit if another group or
individual is waiting. See the shelters list for more information.
Conditions
- Check-In is at 10:00 AM the day of the reservation
- Check-Out is at 9:30 PM the same day
- Maximum of 1 day per reservation
- Reservation must be made a minimum of 2 days before first day of reservation
- Other Terms and Conditions May Apply
Special Events
Special events are allowed at Dane County Parks after special review. These reservations can
require more extensive use of the Park facilities and may require proof of insurance, additional permits,
and other items. Please contact the Parks Office at (608) 224-3730 to schedule a special event.
